What Happens to Ukrainian Children After Returning from Russian Occupation: A Voices of Children Analytical Study
Nearly 600,000 children living in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine attend schools that have been fully converted to the Russian education system (according to the Centre for Civic Education “Almenda”). Overall, as of October 2024, around 1.6 million Ukrainian children aged 0–18 remained in temporarily occupied territories. The Voices of Children Foundation conducted the analytical study “Returning Childhood: Psychological Support for Children on Their Path to Reintegration” to better understand what families face after returning from Russian occupation.

A Charity Evening Marking World Children’s Day at the Ivan Franko Theater
On November 19, the Rose Hall of the Ivan Franko National Theater in Kyiv brought together those who believe in the power of words and the voices of children. Writer and war veteran Artur Dron, the Voices of Children Foundation, and The Old Lion Publishing House hosted a charity literary evening titled The Most Important Spice of Life, featuring a stage performance, poetry, and talks about childhood during wartime.

Hyphen Dash and Voices of Children Announce a Collaboration to Support Children in Ukraine
War changes childhood. Children hear explosions, hide in shelters during air raid alerts, and read news that should never be part of a child’s world. These experiences leave deep scars, which is why timely psychological support is so crucial. Voices of Children, in collaboration with the band Hyphen Dash, is launching a charitable initiative to raise awareness about children affected by the war. Our goal is to raise funds for psychological support for children as part of the release of the band’s new album, titled LATE.

Voices of Children Presents the AN-225 Mriya Model Created by Sofiia
On October 28, a press conference took place at the Aviation Training Hangar of the Kyiv Aviation Institute, now home to the State Aviation Museum. The event brought together members of the aviation community and journalists to share an incredible story. 16-year-old Sofiia built a model of the destroyed AN-225 Mriya (that symbolically means “dream” in Ukrainian). This model has now become a symbol of a large-scale charity fundraiser to support children living in frontline areas.

The Voices of Ukrainian Children Heard at the Exhibition “No hay niños, hay gente” in Chile
On October 17, in Santiago, the capital of Chile, an exhibition opened that brought together two tragedies: one from the past and one from the present. At the Museum of Memory and Human Rights (Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos), established to commemorate the victims of the Chilean dictatorship, a multimedia exhibition titled No hay niños, hay gente (“No children, but people”) was inaugurated.

August and September at Voices of Children: Summer Camps, New Groups, and Hundreds of Kids on Outreach Visits
The final weeks of summer and the beginning of fall are always a special time. Children prepare for school, parents try to help their families adjust to a new rhythm, and psychologists make this transition easier, helping kids adapt to schedule changes, regain focus, and more. Throughout August and September, the teams of Voices of Children’s regional centers worked in various cities across Ukraine—from Lviv to Kharkiv, from Sumy to Mykolaiv.
