During the years of full-scale invasion and over a decade of Russia's war against Ukraine, it is crucial to highlight how children experience this reality. At the same time, one of the key values of the foundation is respect for the dignity and rights of the child.
The foundation has developed a Child Protection Policy, which every employee of the organization is familiar with. The policy includes the principles of operation of the Voices of Children Charity Foundation, legislation on guaranteeing children's rights, the foundation's ethical code for child protection, prevention of child protection policy violations, recognition of child abuse, response to suspected cases of child abuse, and regulatory documents that the Voices of Children specialists rely on.
The Child Protection Policy of the Voices of Children Foundation (UA Only) applies to:
- all Foundation staff, consultants, contractors, interns, and volunteers;
- anyone carrying out activities on behalf of the Foundation;
- representatives of partner organizations and donors;
- representatives of the media;
- recipients of services and assistance.

Our goal is to create a culture within the foundation where every member, without exception, does everything possible to protect children's rights.
Our team members respect the dignity and rights of every child under all circumstances.
We do not tolerate any form of discrimination against children.
We maintain confidentiality when receiving information from a child and prevent any unauthorized use of a child's personal data.
The foundation adheres to the principle of the best interests of the child in all its activities.
One of the goals of the Voices of Children Charity Foundation is to give children a voice. We want to provide children with the opportunity to express themselves and be heard.
It is important for us to guarantee children's right to freely express their views while ensuring that their opinions are given proper attention according to their age and maturity.
We involve children in our public events, video content, and more to achieve this.
Since children have experienced and continue to experience many traumatic events and are in various psychological states, it is crucial not to retraumatize them by involving them in public events.
We adhere to strict guidelines regarding children's participation in performances for a wide audience.
- Children who participate in public events have undergone a course of sessions with a psychologist or psychotherapist. They are psychologically recovered and resilient.
- The traumatic event occurred no less than six months ago. After that, the child had the opportunity to process their experience with a psychologist.
- The child is willing to express themselves, and their speech is not censored.
- Parents provide official written consent for their children's participation in public events or photo and video recordings.
- We do not allow the publication of stories or images that may put the child and their family in danger.
- The Voices of Children Foundation advocates for all decisions and activities involving children to be organized with a focus on protecting the child's interests and rights.
Treat children the way you would want to be treated.
