A Place Where the Voices of Children are Heard Loud and Clear. By their side for over 10 years.
We work so that no child should face the war experience alone. And we believe that, together with you, it is possible.
With your trust, we grow stronger—and help children find the strength to overcome the challenges of war and build their future.
Our Principles:
A comprehensive approach. Thanks to your support, we go beyond psychological care—we create safe environments for the full development of every child.
Belief in the child’s strength. We help children not only live through the war but also learn to cope with its consequences, supporting them through post-traumatic growth.
Child rights advocacy. We work to make sure every voice is heard—and that the issues facing children of war are acknowledged at the state level.
Systemic approach. Together with our partners, donors, and caring people, we create not only immediate assistance but long-term programs that change children’s lives.
How It All Began
In 2014, when Russia started the war, hundreds of thousands of children in Ukraine faced experiences no child should ever go through. They fled their homes, hid from shelling, and lost loved ones. Fear and uncertainty silenced their voices.
Journalist Olena Rozvadovska didn’t stand aside. She moved to eastern Ukraine to help children and their families—to listen, to support, and to find ways for them to heal.
Documentary filmmaker Azad Safarov witnessed these stories firsthand. Together with director Simon Lereng Wilmont, they created A House Made of Splinters, a film that compelled the world to see and hear Ukraine’s children. The film received over 40 international awards and was nominated for an Oscar.
But visibility alone was not enough. The children needed more than attention—they needed long-term, systemic support. And so, in 2019, the Voices of Children Foundation was born—an organization rooted in empathy, action, and the belief that childhood should remain childhood, even during the war.
How We Help Today
Founded in response to the war in 2014, the Voices of Children Foundation has grown into a charitable organization providing professional, comprehensive, and long-term support to children. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, we have helped over 105,000 children and parents.
We focus on four key areas:
Psychological support. With your help, we provide individual and group therapy, art therapy, and deploy mobile psychological teams to reach those in need.
Education and development. Together, we create safe spaces for learning, rest, and creativity. We run career guidance programs, creative workshops, and camps for children.
Advocacy. With your and our voices, we work to change the system—amplifying the voices of children, promoting legal reforms, and speaking on international platforms to influence decisions about their protection.
Supporting communities and training professionals. We train specialists and build a network of regional centers for psychological support and assistance.
Our work spans the entire country—from Lviv and Kyiv to Kharkiv, Dnipro, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, and beyond. We create our centers where they are needed most.
Your support makes this possible—every day, in every region, for every child.
The voices of children grow louder when you stand with us. Thank you for being with us.
