The CAMP+ Fundraiser Is Complete: Over $59,000 Raised to Support Families of Ukraine’s Defenders

We have closed the fundraising campaign for the CAMP+ program and are pleased to announce that we exceeded our goal together. In total, we raised $59,124—enough to organize one session of the psychological support program for 16 mothers and 22 children of Ukraine’s defenders.

What unites the participants is their shared difficult experience: their loved ones are fighting on the front line, have fallen, are in captivity, or are considered missing. CAMP+ will become a place where they can safely process the most difficult experiences of war, with the support of specialists and people who understand their pain.
What Is CAMP+ and How Does It Work
CAMP+ is a three-week psychological support program developed by our Foundation’s specialists specifically for families experiencing loss, captivity, or uncertainty. The program combines individual and group work with psychologists, body-oriented practices, and art therapy.

We deeply respect every story shared by the families of defenders. Our goal is to help reduce the impact of prolonged stress, stabilize participants’ emotional states, and gradually restore their sense of inner strength.

The support doesn’t end with the three-week program. After the camp ends, mothers and children continue working with psychologists and stay in touch with each other. The path to recovery takes time, and knowing that you are not alone is essential.
Recognition and Trust
In 2023, CAMP+ acquired the status of a national methodological guideline for specialists working with families affected by difficult life circumstances. However, the most valuable thing is the feedback from the families who have been through the program.
I urge women who are still ‘waiting’ not to ignore psychological help. Without it, I couldn’t have carried that burden of pain, confusion, loneliness, and responsibility. It saved me—and I hope my story gives someone else the strength to keep fighting,
shares Viktoriia, a CAMP+ participant in 2023.
Support from Hundreds of Compassionate People
This session for 16 families is made possible thanks to each of you. We were supported by service members, volunteers, the business community, donors, and hundreds of caring people. Thirty-two joint fundraising “Jars” (friendly fundraisers hosted on Monobank, a Ukrainian banking app) were launched— each one a sign of respect for families going through some of the hardest moments in their lives.

Coming soon—the stories of mothers and children walking the path to recovery with us. We will show the impact of your donation because transparency is our foundation of trust.

Thank you for helping us achieve more together. Support the programs of Voices of Children—every family deserves a chance to regain inner strength and hope.

What Happens to Ukrainian Children After Returning from Russian Occupation: A Voices of Children Analytical Study
Nearly 600,000 children living in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine attend schools that have been fully converted to the Russian education system (according to the Centre for Civic Education “Almenda”). Overall, as of October 2024, around 1.6 million Ukrainian children aged 0–18 remained in temporarily occupied territories. The Voices of Children Foundation conducted the analytical study “Returning Childhood: Psychological Support for Children on Their Path to Reintegration” to better understand what families face after returning from Russian occupation.
“Artur”: A Film About a Writer Who Gave Kindness a Voice
Three years ago, Artur Dron—a poet and veteran—created an Excel spreadsheet on his computer and called it “The Literary Million.” That was the amount, in hryvnias, he dreamed of raising to support children through our Foundation. Eventually, the file had to be renamed: the number in it was growing faster than the title could keep up with the story.
“I Feel Like I’m at Home Here”: How Voices of Children Psychologists Supported Children in April and May
"I feel so good here. It feels like home!" — this is how eight-year-old Aniuta described her sessions at the Voices of Children center in Kropyvnytskyi. Over the past two spring months, there have been many moments like this across our regional centers. Children learned how to cope with stress, while parents found opportunities to pause and take care of themselves.
