Romanian Stand-Up Comedian Victor Patrascan Organised a Charity Tour to Support Ukrainian Children

Romanian stand-up comedian Victor Patrascan raised over 11,000 euros for the Christmas campaign of the "Voices of Children" Charitable Foundation through performances in Kyiv and Lviv.

Funds were collected through ticket sales, auctions, and donations made during the shows and on the comedian’s website.

In total, five concerts were held in Kyiv and Lviv, raising 23,255.75 euros for the benefit of charitable organisations. The funds were split equally between the "Voices of Children" Foundation, which supports children affected by the war in Ukraine, and the "Sirius" animal shelter, which currently cares for around 3,000 animals.

"I am forever grateful for all the 2,044 people who came to the 5 sold out shows in Lviv and Kyiv.
The war in Ukraine is still going on, so please keep supporting the innocent civilians going through this," the comedian wrote on his Instagram page.

Joining Victor were other popular comedians: Vasyl Baidak, Anton Tymoshenko, Iaroslav Pirog, Oleksandr Kachura, Anastasiya Sil', Fedor Ikelaar (comedian from the Netherlands), Georges Degoumois (comedian from Switzerland).

Victor expressed his special thanks to everyone who helped organise the shows and collect donations: Anastasiya Sil' for the show in Lviv; Amina @aminorfus and "Underground Stand-Up" — for the Kyiv show. The photos from the performances were taken by Olha Zakrevska.

Throughout his tour across Ukraine, Victor Patrascan entertained audiences with jokes about gender, religion, politics, and other controversial topics of contemporary life.

For context, Victor Patrascan is a bold stand-up comedian and provocative social commentator, who lives in London but was born in Romania. In 2019-2020, he led the Roast Battle London Premier League rankings. It was during that time that he began touring Europe with his solo stand-up show The Trouble with Being Born Romanian. Since early 2021, he has been touring with his new programme Dirty Immigrant.

Victor Patrascan stands in solidarity with Ukraine, often making jokes about Russia and Belarus, and these sharp videos gained widespread popularity online.

As a reminder, in early December, the "Voices of Children" Foundation launched its Christmas campaign, collecting donations throughout the month to provide psychological support for children affected by the Russian war against Ukraine.

For the First Time Ever: Voices of Children Brings Together Alumni of All Its Arts Residencies

For six days in August, a bar appeared in the Carpathians where you paid for tea not with money, but with leaves from the trees. Nearby, teenagers flew kites against the mountain backdrop, while every evening brought live music. This was the Youth Retreat — a major gathering that brought together alumni of the Voices of Children Foundation’s arts labs from across Ukraine. Each of these teenagers had previously taken part in one of our creative residencies. This time, for the first time, they all came together in one place.

Liev Schreiber Visits Voices of Children in Kyiv and Speaks to CNN About His Trip

American actor Liev Schreiber recently visited Kyiv together with BlueCheck, his organization that provides funding for grassroots humanitarian initiatives. He came to the Voices of Children center as a friend and partner of the Foundation. After another night of Russian attacks on the city, Schreiber spent time with the children supported by the Foundation — and later spoke about the visit on social media and on CNN.
