“Voices of Children” Releases Research Report on War Crimes Against Children Over 2.5 Years of Full-Scale War

On November 20, the world marks World Children's Day to emphasize the importance of protecting children's rights, fostering child centered environments, and ensuring their well-being.

In Ukraine, children are growing up amid the war that Russia began over ten years ago. Daily, they endure violations of their fundamental rights. Russian forces have consistently committed war crimes against minors, including:

Shelling, bombing, and planting mines in civilian areas.
Employing prohibited weapons and methods of warfare.
Committing murder, causing injuries, and engaging in cruel treatment and sexual violence.
Abducting and forcibly deporting children.
Recruiting and involving minors in military activities.
Blocking access to humanitarian aid.

The “Voices of Children” Charitable Foundation has compiled a detailed report documenting these atrocities over the past 2.5 years of full-scale war. The report draws on a thorough analysis of statistics, official records, media sources, and in-depth interviews with parents, children, and experts.

Cooking Dinner Without Electricity: How We Supported Families Remaining in Frontline Kherson

In Kherson, the day often begins with a single question, “Will there be electricity today?” The answer determines whether a child will be able to finish their homework, whether parents can heat up dinner, and whether there’s enough battery left on a phone to call loved ones. The city continues to endure daily shelling, which has, tragically, become part of everyday life. To help ease the daily challenges faced by families in the frontline Kherson region, the Kherson NGO “Journalists’ Association ‘AlternatyvA’” implemented the project “Rapid Winter Response for Ukrainian Children and Families” with the support of the Voices of Children Foundation and funding from ERIKS.
