Today is the Birthday of the “Voices of Children” Foundation. Here's a breakdown of our activities in numbers

8 years ago, our foundation was established by the volunteer Olena Rozvadovska and the journalist Azad Safarov to help children and families affected by the war.
Since then, our team has expanded from two to nearly two hundred people.
Originating as an initiative in the frontline zone, we have evolved to provide assistance across the entire Ukraine
Speaking about how we have changed during the full-scale war, during which we have provided tens of thousands of children with psychological, humanitarian and rehabilitation assistance. Psychologists work in 13 branches of the foundation – in frontline cities, de-occupied villages and online. The foundation also published a bilingual book of children's quotes, "War in the Voices of Children" which was presented at the European Parliament and the United Nations. This year, at the Oscars, Azad together with a Danish film director, presented the documentary "House of Splinters" about children from Lysychansk, and Olena was included in the BBC “100 Women” 2023 list as a child rights advocate. All this helps to tell more about Ukrainian children abroad.
The Foundation's achievements since the beginning of the full-scale war in numbers:
  • 67 thousand children and parents have received various types of assistance from the Foundation (humanitarian, psychological, psychosocial, rehabilitation);
  • Over 12 thousand children have received professional psychological and psychosocial support;
  • Every month, over 1000 children visit branches of the Foundation;
  • Our psychologists from the online support line have conducted 5447 psychological sessions with children and adults;
  • 162 professionals work in the foundation's team across the country, including around 100 psychologists and recreation specialists;
  • 13 locations in Kyiv, Lviv, Truskavets, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kryvyi Rih, Vysokyi, Kharkiv, Ternopil, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, and Mykolaiv, where our psychologists are always available.
There are no words to describe our gratitude for the support from all over the world. We are supported worldwide by individual donors, businesses, volunteers and simply people who care. You are all helping not just a charitable foundation, but the future of the whole country. You are incredible!
You can congratulate us by joining the Christmas campaign, where we are raising money for psychological and psychosocial support for at least 1000 children in 2024. Details are here

25,000 Stories of Support Through Teenagers’ Eyes: Annual Report of Voices of Children for 2025
For Voices of Children, every annual report is an opportunity to look back, take stock of what we have achieved, and thank everyone who has stood alongside children. That is how the Foundation’s Chair of the Board, Olena Rozvadovska, describes the purpose of these pages. The 2025 report was created together with teenagers who took part in our art labs. They conducted real interviews with the Foundation’s team members, asking about their daily work, challenges, and what inspires them.

“Even a Storm Can Be Beautiful”: Olena Rozvadovska and Azad Safarov on the Team, Creativity, and the Foundation’s Plans for 2026
Olena and Azad met in the east of Ukraine long before Russia’s full-scale invasion. Back then, he told her: “In five years, we’ll have a Foundation.” She didn’t believe him. Today, the Voices of Children team works across Ukraine, creates books that are later translated by HarperCollins, runs art labs in the mountains, and is preparing to open a large Childhood Center.
