June 1 marks International Children’s Day. Ukraine has endured a full-scale war for three years now, and every child needs our protection.
During this time, 75% of children have suffered psychological trauma as a result of the war, and 40% face challenges accessing education.
In May, Russian forces intensified their activity in eastern and northern Ukraine, resuming offensives in the Kharkiv region and escalating missile strikes in Sumy. With Russian troops just 30 kilometers from Kharkiv, air raid alerts in May lasted nearly 13 days.
"Children’s anxiety levels have risen. They require constant stabilization due to frequent shelling," says Aliona Chyryk, regional coordinator for Voices of Children in eastern Ukraine.
The "Voices of Children" Foundation operates three centers in Kharkiv and has a mobile team providing psychological and psychosocial support. In Sumy, we deliver humanitarian aid and organize online sessions with psychologists.
Your contributions from May 24 to June 24 will help provide essential support to families in Kharkiv and Sumy regions. Let’s stand as guardians of childhood and support Ukrainian families in overcoming the war’s impact.
