Childhood Near an Airfield During Wartime: The Story of 12-Year-Old Alina from the Dnipropetrovsk Region
Anxiety and fear have become constant companions for 12-year-old Alina from the Dnipropetrovsk region. All because of the ongoing Russian shelling she has witnessed.
Her mother, Mrs. Yevheniia, says that she lives close to a military airfield with Alina and her younger 6-year-old son. Due to Russian aggression, they are forced to endure constant shelling, sleepless nights, power outages, and interruptions in schooling.
They haven't found the courage to leave. But as parents, they try to do everything possible to shield their children from the war and help Alina feel better—because, being a teenager, she suffers the most. They also reached out for psychological support. Now, Alina attends our Center and takes part in psychologist-led sessions.
