Through the Eyes of Children, a book featuring children’s quotes, has been launched in the United States. Created by the “Voices of Children” Charitable Foundation, the book is originally titled Viina holosamy ditei in Ukrainian. HarperCollins Publishers, one of the leading English-language publishers, has acquired the copyright.
For the first time, an American publisher has reissued a book from the Ukrainian charitable foundation.
HarperOne, a publishing brand of HarperCollins, is thrilled to share this powerful book with readers around the globe, said Judith Kerr, President of HarperOne Group and Publisher. This touching and heartfelt trilingual book lets us see what it feels like to be a child living in a city under siege or in a foreign city or country, far from everything familiar and loved — all told through the voices of the children themselves. Some quotes are filled with hope, while others express sadness and fear, offering readers of all ages a glimpse into the realities of war.
A portion of the proceeds from each sale will go to provide psychological support for Ukrainian children affected by the war. The book is available for purchase on the publisher’s website and through the following retailers:
- Amazon
- Barnes & Noble
- Books-A-Million
- Bookshop
- Target
- Walmart
The unique edition is also available in digital format, and an audio version may be released in the future. HarperCollins Publishers intends to translate it into various languages, though Russian and Belarusian versions are not planned.
In Ukraine, the book Viina holosamy ditei was released on February 22, 2023, marking one year since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion. To learn more about the inspiration behind the book and its journey around the world, read the full story.
