On 23 October, the Voices of Children Foundation and the Western Ukrainian Specialised Children's Medical Centre signed a memorandum of cooperation, which consolidated their partnership.
"The memorandum consolidates our further cooperation in creating even more opportunities for quality, timely and professional mental health care," said Olena Rozvadovska, the chairman of the Foundation's board.
"The Voices of Children provides assistance to children with autism spectrum disorder. Thanks to this, 339 children have already received 5,000 correctional sessions with a speech therapist and psychologist. We also cooperate with the medical centre to provide referrals.
"The hostilities have become a real challenge for children with autism spectrum disorders. They needed special help because, perhaps, they suffered the most from the sharp sounds of explosions, loss of routine and the need to stay in a shelter for a long time among a crowd of people and pets," says Natalia Masiak, head of the Clinic at the Western Ukrainian Specialised Children's Medical Centre. - "Most of them were forced to leave their homes and look for a safe place. And they found shelter in our Clinic for Mental Health of Children, Adolescents and Youth. We are glad that our cooperation with the foundation will continue."
