The Voices of Children Foundation renovated the shelter at the Chernihiv College of Railway Transport so that 150 students could switch to offline education.
It took two months and 1,955,000 hryvnias to equip a safe and comfortable space in one of the buildings - it has an air recovery system, a shower and a bathroom. This became possible thanks to the donations of the benefactors of the Voices of Children Foundation.
"Children from de-occupied villages of the Chernihiv region study here. Parents are glad that they can send their child to safer Chernihiv to study and live in a dormitory. After all, some villages are located very close to the border," said the co-founder of the Foundation Olena Rozvadovska during the acceptance of renovation work.
Earlier, the college was damaged by shelling. And in the spring of last year, the Russian military shot two lyceum students right in the street during the occupation of a part of the region.
"The lyceum has 500 students. It is very important to give children the opportunity to go offline, to be among their peers and to feel safe," Olena Rozvadovska emphasized.
