The mobile outreach team, consisting of three professionals—coordinator Nadiia Durnytska and psychologists Yevheniia Dudetska and Sofiia Stetsenko—has recently started operating in Sumy.
At the moment, they are running creative play sessions for children. The range of services will expand once the team is fully operational.
For safety reasons, all activities are held in a secure bomb shelter.
How the Creative Sessions for Children Are Run
The “Voices of Children” mobile team has already held its first sessions in Sumy. In the younger group, they painted using a fun technique in which they created pictures from paint blobs or stains (blobography/kliaksohrafiia), using cocktail straws to blow and shape the paint. This method not only helps children to develop their imagination and artistic skills but also helps them feel calmer and more emotionally balanced.
The children really enjoyed the session. They were excited to share memories and emotions, and each of them made more than two drawings,
said psychologist Yevheniia Dudetska.

The session for the older group was focused on emotions. The teenagers worked on recognizing their emotions and learning to manage their emotional states. They focused especially on dealing with negative emotions.
To help with anxiety, the children were introduced to a grounding and calming technique called “5-4-3-2-1”:
- Name five things you can see.
- Name four things you can touch.
- Listen for three sounds you can hear.
- Identify two smells you can sense.
- Notice one taste.
