On November 20, the world marks World Children's Day to emphasize the importance of protecting children's rights, fostering child centered environments, and ensuring their well-being.
In Ukraine, children are growing up amid the war that Russia began over ten years ago. Daily, they endure violations of their fundamental rights. Russian forces have consistently committed war crimes against minors, including:
- Shelling, bombing, and planting mines in civilian areas.
- Employing prohibited weapons and methods of warfare.
- Committing murder, causing injuries, and engaging in cruel treatment and sexual violence.
- Abducting and forcibly deporting children.
- Recruiting and involving minors in military activities.
- Blocking access to humanitarian aid.
The “Voices of Children” Charitable Foundation has compiled a detailed report documenting these atrocities over the past 2.5 years of full-scale war. The report draws on a thorough analysis of statistics, official records, media sources, and in-depth interviews with parents, children, and experts.
* The figures presented in the report reflect official data as of October 2024.
